Becara offers an electic selection of accent furniture and home décor.
It was founded in 1964 by Begoña Zunzunegui. Back in the 60s in Spain, Begoña saw an opportunity in the wholesale business. With her knowledge of international markets, at first, she focused her efforts, on the development of a nonexistent market in Spain.
In the mid 70s, Begoña saw an opportunity to explore markets in Asia, something unusual at the time, and much more for a young entrepreneurial female. She sought out suppliers in China, India, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand and many other Asian countries that offered something new for what became known as the “Becara Collection”.
During the 80s, Becara forged its way into international markets, exhibiting at the most important fairs in Europe: “Salon du Meuble” in Paris, “Ambiente and Tendence” in Frankfurt, “Abitare il Tempo” in Verona, “Maison & Objet” in Paris, “Salone del Mobili” in Milan, thus paving the way to a business that exported its products to over 40 countries around the world. In 2000, Becara began retail expansion, opening its first Becara flagship store in Madrid.
Today’s collection is inspired on the original display at the Madrid, Spain store. Becara has grown to be a leading European design brand, dedicated to all residential, hospitality and contract sectors.
The last few years Becara has expanded further within Spain, as well as within international markets such as Mexico City, Barranquilla, Bilbao, Bogotá, Lisboa, Marbella, Medellín, Mérida, Miami and Monterrey.
